DESCRIPTION

This micro-thesaurus is one of the domains of Iranian cultural thesaurus (ASFA) in Persian, Arabic, English and Russian languages. Also it includes preferred Persian terms in Cyrillic script and Tajik terms in Cyrillic script as well as Persian script. The collaborators of the second trilingual edition of the Iranian Cultural Thesaurus were Fataneh Torkashvand and Narges Qadimi. English equivalents prepared by Ali Karbalaie-Nowroz and Seyyed Shamsodin Miraboutalebi. Morteza Razmara added Russian and Tajik equivalents to the next edition. So ASFA data of National Library of Iran software (RASA) was improved and converted to SKOS/RDF. This thesaurus now is available on Skosmos platform.
Saeedeh Akbari Daryan supervised the project SKOS/RDF. Narges Azizian edited and formed the data. Alireza Badrlou converted and cleaned up the data., and Hasan Baqeri-Mahabadi undertook customizations of Skosmos.
In setting the hierarchy of each language in Skosmos, if we couldn’t find an equivalent for a term in one language, the Arabic preferred term is provided. If Arabic equivalent was not found, the Persian preferred term is used.
We sincerely hope to receive comments and suggestions from the LIS professionals in order to enrich our work.
